If you are looking to start a new career as a dental assistant, ATI has just the program for you! Our Dental Assisting (DA) diploma program is designed to prepare students for successful careers in less than a year. The career-oriented program combines dental office administration, laboratory procedures and chairside dental care.

Professional instructors help students develop skills and hands-on experience necessary to assist with the delivery of quality, efficient dental care. Let ATI help you start your career in this exciting industry. Our diploma program offers affordable, practical training with convenient scheduling options. Faculty help students foster skills essential for success in the fast-paced environment of dental offices, including billing and insurance procedures, patient record management, tray setup, x-ray processing and dental charting.

Students must possess a high school diploma, GED or recognized equivalent, or demonstrate the ability to benefit from training. Non-high school graduates or students who do not possess appropriate equivalency may be admitted under ability to benefit (ATB) criteria with a minimum score of Verbal-200 and Quantitative-210 on the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test. The DA graduate will be qualified for entry-level employment as a receptionist, insurance clerk or chairside assistance in dental offices or clinics.

As of September 1, 2006, a student must complete a mandatory brief course approved by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners in order to become a registered dental assistant. An approved provider list can be found of the TSBDE website – http://www.tsbde.state.tx.us. ATI will pay for this required course and a student’s first attempt of successful completion of this course for all DA students that have completed all other academic requirements towards the completion of the program.

Programs vary by location, so please contact your local ATI campus for more information. Talk to an admissions representative today to learn more about starting your career in dental assisting by calling (888) 209-8264.
