Are you interested in a rewarding welding career? If so, let ATI help you develop the skills necessary to become an entry-level combination welder in less than a year! Our combination welding (CW) diploma program offers flexible scheduling and hands-on skills training in this exciting field.
Our program is taught by professional instructors in simulated work environments to help you develop the hands-on experience as well as equipment and shop safety skills that employers seek. The CW course of study is designed to equip students with skills and knowledge in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and flux core arc welding (FCAW). Through classes that combine theory and practical applications, students are prepared to obtain in-house welding certifications as well as national certifications of the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).
The CW graduate will be qualified for entry-level employment in building construction, shipbuilding, manufacturing, shop fabrication, gas and oil field services, and as welding operators. Students must possess a high school diploma, GED or recognized equivalent. Non-high school graduates or students who do not possess appropriate equivalency may be admitted under ability to benefit (ATB) criteria with a minimum score of Verbal-200 and Quantitative-210 on the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test.
Programs vary by location so please contact your local ATI campus for more information. Talk to an admissions representative today to learn more about starting your career as a combination welder by calling (888) 209-8264.

The On-time Graduation Rate is a calculation which demonstrates, based on the number of students who graduate within the 2009-2010 award year, the percentage of those students who completed their educational program on time based on the published program length (in weeks). The published program length assumes a student is attending full-time and passes each class without being required to repeat any courses. Students not attending full time are required to repeat a class, are not counted as graduating on time.
On-time Graduation Rate: 87% (Day), 73% (Evening)
Median Loan Debt:
The Median Loan Debt calculation is based on the median debt incurred in Title IV Federal Student Aid Loans (Subsidized and Unsubsidized) and Private Loans incurred by students who graduated from their educational program in the 2009-2010 award year. In addition, we provide the median amount graduates owed the school (school balance) at the time the student graduated from the educational program. This data is intended to provide prospective students, and the public, with the median amount a student can be expected to repay upon completing the program.

All placement rates disclosed were reported to ACCSC in the 2010 annual report. The placement rates for schools accredited by ACCSC are based on the outcomes of students that started during a specified period time. This period of time is calculated based on program length in months. The calculation uses July 2010 as the report end date, allows for students to complete the program within 1.5 times the program length and also allows for 3 months to find employment.
Graduates are considered unavailable for employment for the following reasons: death, incarceration, active military service deployment, the onset of a medical condition that prevents employment, or international students who have returned to their country of origin.
These disclosed placement rates reflect historical outcomes of graduate employment and should not be relied on by anyone as an implicit or explicit representation or promise of future employability for any graduate.
